Updates on Conventions

RamenCon was AHMAZING. I had a great time with friends, meeting new people, seeing the guests, and of course dealing with the masquerade, despite some shortcomings on scheduling; whoever planned it only allowed two hours for judging, and it was late at that- from 3 to 5. Naturally, as that wasn't enough time, we ran right up until 6:30 with judging (show being at 7) and had to complete judging in the hallway. Frustratingly couldn't afford to schedule time slots, since any time lost waiting for the next participant risked wasting time judging someone who was available, and thus not getting to judge everyone. It was a bit of a mess, but the contestants had the patience of saints, stayed with us and in a good mood and put on an amazing show! The show itself could not have gone better, given the circumstances, such as having literally no proper backstage area for the cosplayers to wait. At least they all got to see the entire show though, that's actually rare for cons in this region, since most cons at least start you back stage, and maybe even have you come back again once you've performed! Anyways, I premiered Michiko, Black Widow, and bunny Panty (I'll have to remake it though- didn't turn out as I wanted), and also wore beach Panty and Kiyal from Gurren Lagann.

My next con is Sugoi, where I will wear Dani Phantom, Michiko, and maybe Zange, as well as premiere Esmeralda! See you all there!

Hopefully by the end of the 2012, I'll still get a few more costumes premiered! It'll be really busy with school, but I'll do my best to take on small projects for the time being. Look forward to it! Also, I have some great plans for next year already, intending to attend ACen, Colossal, GenCon, and Youma, possibly Ohayo as well plus premiere more Jak and Daxter cosplays, some fairies, and more Yoko outfits. 2013 will be a great year!
