Just a little Rarity ensemble that I put together for SugoiCon 2012's formal dance, which of course, as with all con formals, turned out to be an awkward hodgepodge of tackily dressed folk, where they play random irrelevant anime openings. XD So Keith and I went out into the hotel to take pics, since inside the ball room, it was quite ugly and dim. The whole hotel is that way though, so we did the best we could. XD
Rarity is my favorite character from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic because she's a fashion designer, and is so cute and fashionable and wants to be popular, but never turns her back on her friends. Sounds cheesy, but I love that there is a fashionable archetype that isn't made out to be some kind of shallow side-enemy of the socially awkward or social "underdogs".
I may, in the future, do more Rarity outfits, but have no immediate plans for the time being, this was just an easy little thing to do for the formal dance, and as a way to pay homage to the fabulousness that is Rarity. ^_^ I chose to go full human with my look. I love seeing other people have their own styles, but I prefer my own MLP cosplays to be full human interpretations- no tail, no ears, no wings, no horns. Not that I'd never add those to my cosplays in the future, but just stating that I made a conscious decision to leave them out after debating on whether I liked it or not for this outfit. ;3
