Hey all! As you can see, I really like to cosplay. I've been cosplaying since 2008, and started sewing and creating my own cosplays since 2011. I've never been instantly talented at cosplay, I've had to work hard at it, and I am always learning new things!

I love cosplaying because I love to create. I also love cartoons, and as a kid, wanted to be a cartoonist. So most of my cosplays are of cartoon characters from anime, american cartoons, and even video games that have more of a cartoon-y style. The colorful outfits and fun designs inspire me, and I love bringing them to life!

Aside from that, I also really like to draw, especially illustrative type things like cartoons, so I may occasionally post some of my art. ;3

For updates, progress photos, cosplay plans, convention photos, etc. as well as social networking!

My general blog: I post cosplay compares, cosplay progress, tutorials, tips, etc. in addition to reblogging things that strike my fancy!

Hardly use it, but feel free to follow anyways ;P

Occasionally post tutorials, contact lens reviews, photo slide shows, videos/pics from cons, etc.

I am also on various other sites, including (but not limited to), ACP, Reddit, etc. If you see "me" on another site and are unsure if it is me, someone with the same name, or an impostor, do not hesitate to ask me here. =)

Updates on Cosplay

So far this year I've been focusing on a lot of Disney because for years I've wanted to cosplay so many different Disney characters, and thought this year would be a good time to crank some of them out. In reality, most of the ones I wanted to do are quite simple, so it's great practice for me to try a variety of different basic skills. =)

Cosplays In Progress:

Cadence (MLP)- 95%
Red Jasmine - 90%
Sailor Neptune- 80%

Updates on Conventions

So far I've been to OhayoCon, Anime Central, and Anime Boston! I also attended MatsuriCon where I won an award for Best Masters for my Space Faerie cosplay! Just got back from RamenCon, as well, where I help out with running the masquerade event. =)

Still thinking about attending SugoiCon, and Anime Crossroads depending on work and school.

In 2014, I intend on going to OhayoCon, Indianapolis ComicCon, and Anime Central.

I'm sorry, but I was wondering how you made the Esmeralda costume? It's beyond stunning and really looks like the realistic version of her Disney counterpart! I was planning on going as Esmeralda for Halloween and thought I should start working on it now. Looked through a few images on the internet and found yours to be striking and eye-catching! Absolutely magnificent! Sorry for the gushing, but it's just a really good cosplay. I was wondering if it's possible for you to explain how you made it; of course you can decline, I was just curious about the process and steps.

Much love, Roxy

Awwww, thank you for the kind words! In the simplest way I can explain it, I shall break the costume down into parts:

Wig: Arda Glinda with extensions sewn in
Headband: plastic hairband covered in fabric, with tails so it can "tie" off
Blouse: custom-drafted by me, made in linen
Cincher: custom-drafted by me, made of velour, with plastic boning, and trim hand sewn on
Scarf: custom-drafted purple satin with trim hand sewn on
Skirt: altered Butterick pattern in linen with white bleached muslin lining and lace machine sewn on

If there's anything you want more detail on just let me know!
Thank you so much! :)

I really appreciate the break down and will try to get started on it as soon as I've got the materials! Hopefully it won't turn out too shabby, but still, yours is brilliantly made, I really hope you know how well your sewing/costume designing technique is, you have some serious talent, dear. Keep up the amazing work! <3
